Oxford's Clarendon scholarship for Nigerians (2027 entry)
Last checked: 3 October 2026. General information, not advice on your case.
The short answer: Nigerians can be considered for Oxford's Clarendon scholarship, which covers course fees and living costs. You do not fill a scholarship form. You apply for your graduate course by its December or January deadline and Oxford considers you automatically. That was what Oxford's funding page said on 3 October 2026, and it is the whole reason the form you keep searching for cannot be found.
What the scholarship covers
Clarendon covers your course fees and gives a grant for living expenses for the length of your course. There are no restrictions on nationality or field of study, and all full-time and part-time master's and DPhil courses are eligible. Source: University of Oxford, Clarendon Fund.
How do Nigerians apply?
- Find your course in Oxford's graduate course list and read its entry requirement.
- Note the December or January deadline on the course page. Only applications in by that date are considered for Clarendon.
- Create your application account and start the form.
- Tell your referees early. Oxford emails them directly, and a missing reference leaves your application incomplete.
- Request your transcript and prepare the documents your course page lists.
What does it cost to apply from Nigeria?
The application fee is £75 for taught courses (about ₦133,000) and £20 for research courses (about ₦36,000). Nigeria is not on Oxford's list of countries whose residents have the fee removed. Source: University of Oxford, application fee.
Is it guaranteed?
No. Clarendon is awarded on academic merit and is very competitive. Nobody can promise it. What you control is a complete application, submitted by the right deadline.
